What you always wanted to know about intense®

Logo SEITZ intense®Here you will find all the important information and answers to your questions.

What is intense®?
intense®is a newly developed solvent by the SEITZ company based on carbon and hydrogen atoms.
intense® has an innovative booster system that significantly improves the cleaning performance.
intense® is the from SEITZ worldwide protected trade name for this newly solvent.

How much experience has been gained in handling this solvent?
As early as 1990, SEITZ introduced the first high-boiling solvents on the German market. Based on this knowledge, the research department continuously developed the products. intense® is the result of decades of experience in modern hydrocarbon solvents.

Why was this solvent developed?
Grease and water-soluble soils are not optimally removed in hydrocarbon solvents. Nevertheless, to achieve a good cleaning performance, the conventional solvent had to be changed and optimized.

Do I still need a cleaning amplifier?
A cleaning booster not only improves the cleaning effect, but also has a hygienic, tactile effect and leveling effect. To prevent graying, the dirt must be removed from the textile and kept in the liquor. intense® has these properties, too.

Where can I buy the solvent?
The solvent can be obtained worldwide, but only through the company SEITZ, its international branches and their authorized distribution partners.

How are the consistency and smell?
intense® a colorless, clear liquid with a product-specific mild odor.

Do solvent odors remain after cleaning in clothing?
With proper solvent care the clothes smell neutral after cleaning.

What physical data does the solvent have?
Carbon- and hydrogen-based solvent with special booster system

Dissolving power: 73 kb 73 kb
Density: 0.79 g / cm3
Flash point: > 64 ° C
Viscosity: 1cp
Boiling range: 180 - 210 °C

What is the hazardous substance classification of intense®?
The product is classified and labeled according to the CLP Regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation). For more information, see the MSDS (material safety data sheet).

How safe is the handling of intense®?
Basically, there are no safety-related concerns when dealing with intense®. The appropriate safety measures should be observed when handling the solvent.

How is the cleaning result?
intense® has the ability to absorb moisture. This removes water-soluble dirt and stains much easier from the fabric.

Due to its molecular structure and the associated high KB number (Boltzmann constant), intense® can safely dissolve grease and wax-based stains.

intense® cleanses gently and leaves the textiles in their original form. This makes finishing even easier and faster.

What advantages does the solvent have over KWL (hydrocarbon solvent)?
intense® has a higher cleaning performance and improved stain removal. Thanks to the innovative booster method, particularly water-soluble soiling can be removed much better.

What advantages does the solvent have over perchloroethylene?
intense® is an environmentally neutral solvent and therefore has lower regulatory compliance requirements. This not only simplifies the storage conditions but also the transport processes.

What about water-soluble stains?
Water-soluble stains are much easier to remove on cleaning machines with distillation through the use of cleaning amplifiers, cleaning activators and water.

How much is the effort in the pre- and post-spotting?
Thanks to its special components intense® provides an unproblematic stain removal and reduces the effort in pre- and post-spotting.

What are the costs for cleaning and maintaining the solvent?

What are the costs for cleaning and maintaining the solvent?
When cleaning and maintaining the solvent by means of distillation, only the costs of the energy used are incurred. Temporal use and product costs through the addition and disposal of additional filter aids are not incurred.Grease and other substances that are difficult to remove by filtration are safely removed. Failures are reduced to a minimum. Any colored residues of over-dyed clothing or of ballpoint pens are distilled out safely

Cleaning and care of the solvent without distillation
A cleaning and care of the solvent is possible with the help of so-called filter aids. In order to maintain the quality of the solvent, a careful maintenance and adherence to the procedures are binding.

Maintenance ofthehygieniccondition
The risk of bacterial growth in the cleaning machine and the associated expense of solvent care does not differ in the case of intense® from that of the classic hydrocarbon solvent. With proper care, there are no unpleasant odors caused by bacteria.

How high is the solvent consumption?
Exact consumption values can be obtained from the various machine manufacturers. According to experience, consumption is on average less than 1%, depending on the use of goods, based on the mass of the cleaned textiles (thick or thin fabrics).

How much does the intense® solvent cost?
The solvent price of intense® may vary. It depends on the respective raw material availability and the reference quantity. The price is slightly higher than the price of a classic KWL solvent and it is based on a country-specific price.

How will I be supported by SEITZ in the adjustment and application?
SEITZ has put together a package for the optimal application of the intense® process. This includes the establishment of the cleaning programs and the training of your staff on the new procedures and their application

Which authorizations do I needand which regulations do I have to observe when operating an intense® cleaning machine compared to KWL?
According to the Federal Ministry of the Environment and the supplier's safety data sheet, intense® is subject to the 31st BImSchV (Ordinance on the Implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act).

According to the 31st BImSchV, all concentration limits must be observed in this context.

The following points must be absolutely obeyed:
  • The cleaning and drying of the cleaning material must be done in a closed system according to the state of the art.
  • The permissible emission limit value is 20 g per kg of cleaned and dried ware.
To meet the VOC (volatile organic compound) guidelines, a yearly solvent balance must be prepared.

A certificate of competence according to BGR 500 (Trade Association Rules 500: Operating work equipment) is required.

How can I dispose of the distillation and filter residues?
The waste and thus the distillation and filtration residues must be recovered or disposed of by a suitable disposal company.

How can I dispose of the contact water?
When disposing of the contact water, the discharge limit of 20 mg per liter KWL (hydrocarbon solvent) must not be exceeded. If the value is higher then it needs to be treated.

In which cleaning machines can I work with intense®?
It can be used in all cleaning machines which are sold as "multi-solvent machines" by the machine manufacturers. Machines designed for a flashpoint > 61 °C can be operated with intense® without any problems. Whether older KWL machines can be converted, must be checked in individual cases by the machine manufacturer.

Which manufacturers offer intense® machines?
Intensive® was extensively tested by all national and international machine manufacturers.

Which tools are needed?
A number of our aids have been extensively tested in combination with intense® and have been released with excellent results.

intense® Pre-spotting agent: Solvex 1, Solvex 2 and Solvex 3

intense® Brushing agent: Polysol KWV

intense® Cleaning amplifier: Sigma Intense

Which task do cleaning amplifiers have?
The cleaning amplifiers in intense® support the removal of dirt

The classic properties of the cleaning amplifiers are used to wet the material, lead to a better anti-static and contain grip and volume-giving components. Good water binding capacity makes it possible to dissolve water-soluble soils very well.

In addition to these classic properties, the cleaning amplifiers also have the task of removing the dissolved dirt from the liquor, so that the dirt does not retract back onto the textiles and a higher dirt carrying capacity is ensured.

Which task does the Polysol KWV brushing agent has?
Polysol KWV is perfect for the pre-spotting of particularly stubborn stains.

KWV dissolves and softens both wet and greasy soiling.

The proportion of textiles for the post-spotting is significantly reduced, so that the operating cycle of the cleaned goods is significantly accelerated.

Which task does the finish Nova Finish has?
Nova Finish is a synthetic resin finish for KWL (hydrocarbon solvent) and perchloroethylene based solvents.

It can be used universally on all woven and knitted fabrics made from natural and synthetic fibers. Nova Finish achieves excellent effects with low application concentration and reduces the wrinkle and stain sensitivity of treated fabrics even in use. It also gives the product a neat appearance and a firm, elastic grip.
